Sister Bell

When I was attending school at the LDS Business College I took a communications class from Sister Bell, she was a very loving sweet down to earth woman who was extremely Christ like and understood people better than anyone I have even met in my life. As I was cleaning out old papers I had saved to my laptop I found this paper I wrote in Sister Bell's class and I decided to post it on my blog so that every now and again I can go back and read it, and maybe it will be something that someone else needs to hear. <3>
ATTITUDE

I believe that having a positive attitude is a huge part of how a person’s life will turn out. There is nothing like meeting a person who always looks on the bight side of things and finds joy in the little things of life!

Growing up I was never one of the people who found the bad in things, but I don’t think I was the most positive person. I would always think about all the things I wish I could change about myself and my life. It wasn’t until I moved down to cedar city and became friends with a girl name Amanda that I learned to change the way I thought about myself and my world around me.

As Manda and I became friends I slowly started to learn how much good there was in the world and to be grateful for the things I had been given. I had a wonderful family who supported me, I had good friends who were always there for me, and I had everything I needed right at my fingertips. Life was good.

But I think the most important thing Manda helped me to learn was learning to love myself. Whenever I was with her she always had something to say about how beautiful we looked, and how skinny we were, and how our eyes were so pretty and blue, and how were had gorgeous hair. No matter how bad we actually did look, she always had something good to say about us. After always hearing her say these this all the time I finally started thinking them. And to this day I always find something I like about myself when I look at myself in the mirror in the morning.

Then there is my cousin Cailie, I have never met anyone who can find so much positive in everything! She is always telling me the things she loves about everything. And after spending many hours reading her blogs I decided that I want to be just like her someday.

Cailie and I have a thing that for everyday in the year of 2009 we will do something new every single day. They don’t have to be huge major things like going sky diving. Just something that we can remember, and tell to other people.

When I started doing this I noticed that I had a much better attitude about my day and how it would turn out. Because there was something new to look forward to that day. And that meant that it was going to be a different day than the last one.

We both started a blog and on my blog a decided that I would also included quotes I had heard and things I had seen during the day that made me happy. For example, one day I was waiting for the trax train to come an it had started snowing and there was an old man across the street from me and when he noticed that it had started snowing he leaned his head back, closed his eyes, and with a big smile on his face held out his hand to catch some snowflakes. Although I’m sure this old man probably had no idea that anyone was watching this simple little action. But it made me so happy to see that something so simple could bring such joy to someone.

Have you ever heard of the chain reaction? Like when someone does something nice for you, you want to do something nice for someone else? Well I believe that we could start a chain reaction of good attitude. So why not try? Because a little bit of a positive attitude could go along way.
